“Critical race theory (CRT) is a cross-disciplinary examination – by social and civil-rights scholars and activists – of how laws, social and political movements, and media shape, and are shaped by, social conceptions of race and ethnicity. The word critical in the name is an academic reference to critical thinking critical theory, and scholarly criticism, rather than criticizing or blaming people.” wikipedia.org
Critical race theory1 is part of a curriculum of today that is teaching this generation and those that follow to hate white people and everything that is white. “What is white? Isn’t it the color of someone’s skin?” Yes, it is, but not in this new(ish) subversive curriculum. Critical race theory teaches that everything that is white is bad. “Ok, that doesn’t make sense, and it sounds extremely racist.” I agree, and it is. To put it simply; white is everything that is normal. White is heterosexuality. White is missionary sex. White is normal (not dyed) hair color. White is cisgender2. White is having both parents of the same race. White is the system. The Constitution and The Bill Of Rights are white. Everything that built America and got us to where we are now is white. White (or whiteness) is also a synonym for bad, and black (or blackness) is a synonym for good. This newer curriculum, of numerous courses, lectures, and studies, teaches how whiteness is the oppressive heteronormative3 patriarchy of America and that racism is instilled in it’s DNA. Critical race theory is being used as a tool to dismantle that patriarchy.
I know what you’re probably thinking; Critical race theory has to be the most racist thing ever. Yes. Even by definition, until they changed it. I’m racist because I’m part-white, whether I agree or not? Yes. Even if I’m unaware I’m racist? Yes. If I am aware, I’m racist? Yes. When I create my racism journal to track my internalized racial superiority (people actually do this) on a weekly, monthly or maybe yearly basis, I’m racist? Yes. No matter how hard I try to even the playing field (that I don’t even see or agree exists), I’m racist? Yes. It doesn’t matter that I treat everyone equally? No. It doesn’t matter that I judge somebody by their character and their actions? No. I will always be racist? Yes. My 5 year old niece is racist? Yes. She doesn’t even know or understand the concept of racism and yet, she’s racist because she’s part-white? Yes. How is this not racist? How does this help fight racism? I know, right? Also, to even question this theory and it’s origins is considered racist. The only way you’re not racist, according to critical race theory, is to be anti-racist and to fully agree with everything critical race theory teaches.
To be fair, people who commend critical race theory claim:
“Critical race theory is a field of intellectual inquiry that demonstrates the legal codification of racism in America. Through the study of law and U.S. history, it attempts to reveal how racial oppression shaped the legal fabric of the U.S. “Critical race theory is traditionally less concerned with how racism manifests itself in interactions with individuals and more concerned with how racism has been, and is, codified into the law.” shreveporttimes.com
“Critical race theory says that “race” is a fluctuating, decentered complex of social meanings that are formed and transformed under the constant pressures of political struggle. In other words, the social meanings of race change over time to accommodate the combatants of political struggles. In the case of white political conservatives, race and racism in 2023 mean you can sit at the table but you have to eat what’s put in front of you… and not complain about it.” moguldom.com
Random fact; did you know 1 in 6 black men will get prostate cancer? That’s kind of a weird fact, right? When I learned this, I didn’t think much of it. It was just another thing I learned that day. Critical race theory teaches that this is racism by design. Even though blackness is always a positive (according to critical race theory), black men getting prostate cancer is because of the oppressive white heteronormative patriarchy. Somehow, a random scientific fact is a part of this whiteness that surrounds everybody. Critical race theory is like the The Racism Matrix. All of that green code in The Matrix is racism. All we see is walls, and streets, and cars, etc. but it’s actually racism. Our DNA is racist. Not only is it racist. It IS racism. We can’t help it. The air is racism. The sky is racism. The grass is racism. The water is racism. Every tomato you’ve ever grown is racism. Every hotdog you’ve ever eaten is racism. Every second of sleep you’ve experienced is racism. Your shoes are racism. My shoes are racism. Michael Jordan’s shoes are racism. Racism is racism. Not racist is racism.
“Race essentialism: Critical race theory reduces individuals to the quasi-metaphysical categories of “Blackness” and “Whiteness,” then loads those categories with value connotations—positive traits are attributed to “Blackness” and negative traits are attributed to “Whiteness.” Although some critical race theorists formally reject race essentialism, functionally, they often use these categories as malicious labels that erase individual identities.” Christopher F. Rufo
From city-journal.org:
“According to this study; 96% of Americans report not knowing enough about critical race theory (CRT) to explain it to others. Nine out of ten Americans told the USC survey team that they favor treating all Americans equally without regard to race, yet 84 percent also mistakenly said that CRT proponents embrace this same color-blind ethos. “Despite the explicit opposition of CRT to colorblindness,” the authors noted, “more than 80% of [Americans] who claimed to have heard of CRT either did not know that colorblindness is not aligned to CRT or were wrong and thought that it was.” What’s more, “this was the only [survey question] for which most respondents confidently answered but were incorrect.” The study also reveals; “Yet among the much smaller group who understood that CRT stands against color blindness, fewer than 20 percent were comfortable with teaching its tenets in K–12 schools.” Americans who relied the most on television news and social media were far more likely to believe, wrongly, that CRT embraces color-blind principles. In other words, the manufactured belief that CRT is merely a continuation of civil rights–era efforts to ensure equality of opportunity provides valuable cover for those pushing race-conscious policies and practices that prioritize equity in outcomes.”
If critical race theory is truly harmless and not what it’s critics claims it to be, then why is it affecting so many people and aspects of our society? Critical race theory has even influenced the White House when it comes to benefiting everyone equally. In Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, “white men will be last in line for federal relief under President Joe Biden’s “Restaurants Revitalization Fund” (RRF), prioritizing funds for women and minority groups first.”
If critical race theory is so harmless, then why are so many states, cities and school districts fighting against critical race theory being taught in schools? Why are so many teachers lying about if they do indeed teach critical race theory? If critical race theory is only taught in law school, then why have some teachers been caught renaming their critical race theory class to something else to fool parents in thinking they’re not teaching it?
If critical race theory was truly what scholars claim it to be, I wouldn’t be writing this article. There wouldn’t be laws put forth against it. There wouldn’t be more racism today than there ever was before it’s inception. How is it possible that critical race theory has been taught in grade schools, making young black people just absolutely hate white people, that have never done anything wrong towards them? Black people being taught critical race theory are becoming entitled and spoiled. They are being told that they are victims of an age old oppression and will always be victims because of laws and systems put forth by white people. Reparations is just one example of this notion. Black people in California, a state that never had slaves, wants millions of dollars in reparations paid to them. I can’t even. White people in general have become the oppressed, only furthering more extreme racism because of courses like critical race theory.
I really think there should be a minimum of $7,000,000 set aside for every single person that has been taught critical race theory. Call it preemptive reparations. If critical race theory was taught for 50 or 100 years, it’s only going to create substantially more racism. Probably more than there is now. Somebody is going to finally realize this is racist and that white people have been treated horribly for years and years and deserve reparations of some sort.
“Critical race theory says the most important thing you need to know about a person is their race, and that every interaction and institution in our society is guilty of ‘systemic racism’ and ‘white supremacy.’” Karlyn Borysenko
Boiling everything down to one’s racial identity is extremely ludicrous, farcical, laughable, juvenile and short sided. People claim critical race theory is only taught on an intellectual level but I just can’t agree with that. To believe this to be true is comparable to believing that only Asian people are capable of modifying Honda Civics. Or only white people enjoy the television show Friends. What is so intellectual about having tunnel vision?
It’s not just critical race theory that is topping today’s charts of creating unnecessary racism. Further down the root of critical race theory you’ll find diversity, equity and inclusion. Also known as, The Future Death Of Us All.
Diversity now dictates who gets hired, who gets accepted into colleges, who gets on a sports team. It’s equity (forced outcome) disguised for the sake of diversity. Over time, this will only enable people to not try as hard, to put in less effort. The effect this will have on society will be unmeasurable. Luxury will be chosen for, instead of earned. This is wrong. The best man for the job is the one who should get it. The most qualified, regardless of identity, should be the one rewarded with accomplishments because that individual accomplished it, instead of having something handed to them for the sake of diversity. Why would anyone be inspired or motivated to compete, or to try harder, when the odds are already against them? When they know being more qualified doesn’t and wouldn’t matter? This will do nothing but create a weaker society. This will effect the economy, technology, education, laws, military, everything. The entire system will be lead by the less qualified because of their identity. The one thing they have no control over. How does this make any sense?
Diversity is enforced because of lack of representation of minority groups. What defines them as minority groups? Is it just population? If that’s the case then there is no need for diversity enforced promotions. The inclusion should be representative based on population per capita. I mean, that is if we’re gonna keep separating and identifying people by their race. Now if there was an equal amount of people of every race and one race was not getting equal representation and inclusion, then that is an issue that should be investigated. The actual issue should be solved. For example; if the problem was lack of education is leading to one race not achieving as high as another race, then that is a serious issue and it needs to be addressed.
I’m not denying racism’s existence. It’s just I’ve never experienced any level of racism in any matter that would make me think like this. When I’m in the store, I will notice a person in the same aisle. Not a person of color. Not a non-white person. Just a person. My brain never registers any identity accept human. The more people are educated to consider other people as people, regardless of the color of their skin, the more racism will dissipate. The more identity is used and observed, the longer this stupidity will continue.
Another problem here is white people are starting to hate themselves. They think they are privileged because they are white. They don’t see how racist critical race theory is and they’re buying into this nonsense all the way. It makes a little sense considering all of their “teammates” are all for this. There is no half way in. You’re either an ally or an enemy. And to be an ally, means you’re anti-racist. Which means you’re fighting side by side with people who really believe. To be an ally, is to admit you’re racist and that you harbor white privilege. You must be a part of the solution.
I’m half white. Does that make me half racist? Should I only hate half of myself? Should I only hate one of my parents? That might prove difficult considering that I’m an equal opportunity parent hater. The only things people should be judged upon is their character, their actions and capabilities. Not circumstances or identity. I don’t care if you’re male, female, black, white, Asian, Latino, Middle Eastern, or Indian, gay, straight, bisexual, or asexual, etc. The prevailing identity for everyone should be obvious but here we are talking about how low things have gotten. That identity being human.
Fighting racism these days is in fact racist. It paints attention to whichever race is being observed, and by proxy, attention to whichever races fighting said oppression. One of the worst things about fighting racism is having an idea in your head lingering whether or not if something is racist. This possible racism could manifest racism just because that seed was planted at some point. Instead, stop talking about racism. I know, I know, the irony. Stop thinking about it. Stop fighting it. Forget about it completely. Treat everyone equally. There, problem solved. Ok, sorry for the poor humor but I hope you get the point. I am not advocating against fighting racism. I’m advocating for people to stop creating more racism. We need to let whatever racism that exists blow away in the wind. Sometimes not paying attention to something takes away all of it’s power.
